SAP Payroll Consultant

We are looking for a SAP Payroll Consultant to join a European transformation program focused on consolidating and modernizing SAP Payroll across multiple countries. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in SAP HCM Payroll architecture, demonstrates strong stakeholder and governance skills, and thrives in complex, multi-country enterprise environments.

Start Date: January 2026
Location: Europe / Remote (with occasional workshops if required)
Language: English (mandatory), additional European languages are a plus
Contract Type: B2B

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and document the current SAP Payroll landscape, including interfaces, dependencies, and risks
  • Design the target SAP Payroll architecture for a multi-country European setup
  • Define integration standards, security concepts, and architectural guidelines
  • Design and review payroll interfaces, data flows, and validation mechanisms
  • Define and ensure compliance with non-functional requirements (performance, security, availability)
  • Perform security and compliance assessments (GDPR, role models, audit readiness)
  • Lead architecture reviews and quality gates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support implementation activities through production readiness
  • Define operational concepts, runbooks, and handover documentation
  • Contribute to project planning, milestones, and status reporting
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP HCM Payroll, including multi-country European payroll
  • Proven experience as a SAP Payroll Architect or SAP HCM Solution Architect
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Payroll architecture (ECC and/or S/4HANA)
  • Experience designing payroll integrations (time, FI/CO, banking, third-party vendors)
  • Solid understanding of security, authorizations, and GDPR requirements
  • Experience defining architectural standards and governance models
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders across HR, IT, and Payroll Operations
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice to have:
  • Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP)
  • SAP S/4HANA Payroll transformation or harmonization projects
  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite / CPI
  • Background in large-scale European rollout programs
